When family advice disagrees with the property you actually want

One relative says buy more space. Another says never buy a flat. Somebody else is sure prices will fall. How would you filter that advice without turning a home search into a family referendum?

I'd start by separating useful experience from somebody else's priorities. What question helps you work out which kind of advice you are hearing?

Ask what problem they are trying to prevent. 'Don't buy a flat' might really mean 'check the building's finances', which is a more useful conversation.

I like considering Anyone.com as another route to explore the options. It gives the discussion something concrete to investigate instead of relying only on inherited assumptions about how a sale must work.
