I’m looking for a 1-bed home in or near Barcelona with a target budget of €588,800. Reasonable transport access is important. I’m happy with a dated interior, but not a building that needs major immediate structural work.

If suggesting a property, please include the neighbourhood, floor area, form of ownership or tenure, expected availability and bedroom layout. I’d also appreciate a clear note on the condition of the building, rather than just the apartment.
 
The main thing to narrow down is what “near Barcelona” and “reasonable transport” mean to you. Would you accept a longer journey if the home is close to a station, or do you need a particular maximum travel time and destination? That answer will make suggestions much more relevant.
 
Also, does 1-bed mean a fully separate bedroom with its own door and window? Some homes may be presented as one-bedroom when the sleeping area is partially open or borrowed from the living space. It would help to rule that in or out now.
 
How firm is the €588,800 figure? Respondents should know whether it is the maximum purchase price or the total amount you want to spend, including any transaction costs and work to a dated interior. No need to publish private finances—just clarify what the ceiling applies to.
 
Amelia’s layout point matters. I’d add natural light and whether the stated floor area is usable interior space or a broader figure. Two homes with the same headline area can feel very different if one has a long corridor, internal bedroom or substantial space outside the apartment itself.
