Planning an informal Delhi property meetup for January 2025

An early-evening meeting may exclude people crossing Delhi after work, while a weekend could be harder to secure at a central, affordable venue. I’m trying to choose between those options for an informal property meetup in January 2025.

The discussion would cover local market observations, financing assumptions, deal analysis and member questions. Before booking, could interested people indicate their preferred format and suggest two workable dates? Please also mention public-transport, accessibility or cost constraints.

If enough people cannot attend in person, I can look at adding a basic remote option rather than making the whole event hybrid from the outset.

Interested. A weekend would be easier for me than an early evening. Could you offer two possible January dates before booking anything? For the venue, somewhere close to public transport and either free or low-cost would probably produce the best turnout.

Early evening is my preference, although I could join remotely on a weekend. Would you consider a simple remote option for people who cannot get to the venue? On financing, it may help to focus the discussion on how members test assumptions rather than letting it become a series of broad predictions.

What size and experience level are you planning for? Deal analysis can work well with a small group but becomes difficult if everyone brings a case. It would also be worth asking people to remove identifying or sensitive details from anything they discuss.

I’d keep this primarily in person. Trying to run a fully hybrid informal meetup can make the room discussion awkward, especially during deal questions. A short remote segment or written recap might be more manageable, provided the organiser is comfortable with it.

I agree with Sofia on not overcomplicating the format, but accessibility should be decided before the venue is booked, not added later. It would help to ask about step-free access and seating needs in the RSVP, along with preferred date and nearest practical transport connection.

The agenda could use tighter time limits: brief introductions, local observations, one or two deal examples, financing, then practical questions. Otherwise “market observations” may consume the whole meeting. Noah’s point about capacity matters here; if interest exceeds the room, deal examples could be selected in advance rather than heard on a first-come basis.

Rather than treating “central Delhi” as sufficient, perhaps the organiser could circulate a small venue shortlist after the headcount. Members can then compare travel convenience, accessibility, room capacity and cost. The most central-looking option is not necessarily the easiest journey for everyone.

Weekend for me. I’m interested, but the likely attendee cost would affect whether I confirm, so please include any room or refreshment contribution with the final date.

There seems to be enough interest to run a quick preference poll: two January 2025 dates, early evening versus weekend, in-person versus remote interest, and accessibility requirements. Once that closes, publish the chosen venue’s capacity, transport information and cost before asking for firm confirmations. That should reduce late withdrawals and show whether a waiting list is needed.
