Can Domain support a Tokyo duplex shortlist after a São Paulo search?

I used Domain while searching for a duplex around São Paulo and am now considering how useful the same approach would be for a search around Tokyo, Japan. Coverage was useful and accessibility was the strongest point, but duplicate listings, stale status and inconsistent floor-area data made comparisons harder than expected.

I’m deciding whether it is reliable enough for an initial Tokyo shortlist. The missing pieces for me are clear listing dates, accurate map pins and a more obvious next step after contacting an advertiser. How well do the mobile filters and saved alerts handle these issues?

Based on those problems, I wouldn’t make it the only basis for a shortlist. Group likely duplicates by photos, location and description before comparing prices, then confirm availability and floor area directly with the advertiser. On mobile, the important test is whether your filters remain applied when you return from a listing; otherwise a broad Tokyo search becomes tedious very quickly.

What do you mean by accessibility here: easy navigation, or information about accessible properties? That changes the assessment.

I’d also want to know whether the map pins were merely approximate or actually wrong. Approximate pins can be understandable, but incorrect ones undermine neighbourhood comparisons. Did any duplicate entries show different prices or floor areas for what appeared to be the same duplex?

I’d separate duplicate control from freshness. Multiple advertisers can produce apparent duplicates, so that alone may not make the portal unusable. A stale status after contact is the bigger concern because it wastes time and distorts the visible supply.

For the Tokyo search, keep a dated shortlist outside the portal, merge entries that share photos or wording, and record each floor-area figure exactly as displayed rather than assuming they use the same basis. If price history or sold-record links are available, use them as supporting context, not proof that the current listing is accurate. Send advertisers the same short set of questions about availability, area and location so the replies are comparable.
