Can a Denver PropertyGuru experience inform an Oslo apartment search?

Relying on the wrong status or area figure could waste a lot of time in an Oslo search, so I am questioning how much weight to give my earlier experience with PropertyGuru around Denver. It was easy to browse, but the same home sometimes appeared more than once, availability was not always current, and floor area was presented inconsistently. I also could not always see what should happen after finding a suitable listing.

Before using it for Oslo, I would want to check whether the mobile filters work well, how quickly advertisers respond and whether listings link to reliable sold records. Has anyone compared those points with the portals that have current Oslo inventory?

I would first establish whether it has meaningful, current Oslo inventory at all. Denver coverage does not tell you much about Norway. Take a small group of Oslo apartments and note when each listing changes status, whether the advertiser confirms it is still available, and whether the same unit appears more than once. That will answer the freshness question better than the headline listing count.

What kind of floor-area inconsistency did you see: different numbers for an obviously identical unit, or listings using differently defined area fields? The first suggests poor duplicate control; the second may be advertiser data that the portal has not presented clearly.

I partly disagree that inventory should be the first deciding factor. A large Oslo result set could still waste time if pins are approximate, duplicates dominate and old listings remain visible. I would inspect map-pin accuracy before contacting anyone, then look for price history or links to sold records where available. Those details help distinguish a comparison tool from a simple advertising feed.

Also run the same Oslo search on desktop and mobile. Apply identical filters, save the search if that option exists, and see whether alerts preserve the floor-area and location settings. Keep a short list of exact addresses or listing references so duplicates are obvious. If status and advertiser replies remain unclear, use the portal as a discovery aid rather than your only route to an apartment.
